Difference between a pop pianist and and classical pianist

Classical Pianist

- Play by looking at the score or by memorising the score. Expression comes from the heart of the player.

Pop Pianist

- Play by hearing and listening to the music. Expression is comes from the lyrics of the song.

The worse paper of the semester

The worse paper of the semester has passed again. I thought that Organic Chem is the worst paper, but it turns out the this AHSS paper is even worse. I can't do AHSS for nuts. All the theories invented by man are useless to me. I see no point in studying that. I couldn't answer the questions. I dunno how long I should write for the short-answer questions. Fill in the blanks question gives me a lot of problems, I fill in stupid answers because I don't know. I'm putting my luck on the mutiple choice questions and the true or false questions. And hopefully some marks from the short-answers questions. I'm just hoping to pass. Luckily I've S/U. I just want to clear the AHSS paper as fast as possible. Why can't they put music in AHSS? Music is art!!!!!!! University grades are unfair.

Update again

Man U didn't make a win, ended up with a draw. Thank God Chelsea didn't make a win too. They ended up with a draw. Too top clubs in English Premier League, the only difference, Mourinho keep blaming Man U for everything that has gone wrong. What's wrong with him? If they want to talk about penalty, why is that he don't talk about Man U vs Portsmouth, we could have earned some penalty from there. To me, it is the refree's decision. It depends on how luck the club is. Refrees make mistakes too. Please do not blame the club. Blame it on yourself and become learn from your losses.

Organic Chemistry is over, I don't want to talk about it as it is demoralising. Forgot a lot of equations. If only Mrs Afzal were here to teach me organic chem, I would have still scored an A. 2 years of rotting caused me to returned everything to the teacher.

I miss band practices.

Orthogonal rule

Wow... I just studied about orthogonal rule of the fourier series. Now I'm able to use it to speed up my maths!!!! Memorise a bit more equations then memorise the green's theorem + gauss law + + +.... and speed up my integration skills and PDE skills, then I'll be ready for maths paper. Kill the carelessness and score A+. I want to ace my maths.

Some crapping again

Today I was on the bus hearing this kid asking his friends, "Hey! Everytime in the train, I always hear this indian announcement. At the end it'll say 'Umberder, Umberder, Umberder'. U know what it means?" I was asking myself, even if a non indian is in the train, he would decipher the message as 999. What else could come in 3 same words? haha... I finally finished my lab report and starting on my maths past year paper soon. It's going to be over in 16 days. 16 days to band prac starts again. I just miss band prac.

My talent is studying but my heart lies with music even if I don't have the talent. If only City Harvest recognise studying talent, or even classical music talent. Sigh.

Man.united Vs Roma - Watch the best video clips here

Spectacular!!! Nice team work of Manchester United team. If they carry on attacking and defending as a team like that, they'll get the premiership champions again.

Morale booster 7-1

Man U played magnificently the last match against AS Roma. A never seen before scoreline looming the headlines of the sports today. As for me, it's my morale booster to study hard also. So I decided to stay up late and practice more organic chem to pay back for my past lousy results of maths and material science. Time to work hard. Man U is cheering me on with the goals.

SYF 2007 for Concert Band (Secondary)

I'm here not to comment on any school. I just wanna say that music should be enjoyed by everyone. Getting medals might be important, but it should be a secondary objective. It actually doesn't matter what you get, but what that matters is whether you enjoy playing up on stage with your friends. There are times when professional do not make the cut too. It's just like when a professional opera singer audition for american idol for instance, he can sing really well, but in the end he's ousted. Let us make music the way we want it to sound and have fun on stage. Don't worry about the medals and express your music on stage. Whatever the result is, always ask yourself whether the time on the stage is fun or not. Work for the fun and not work for the medals. All the best to the remaining bands participating in SYF and have fun on stage.

So late still blogging

It's time to do a review on myself. Am I studying to hard? or am I studying aimlessly. Sometimes I feel that I've been studying too hard and neglecting my health. This sem module no doubt it has increase it's difficulty level. Sometimes I just wish that I can improve very fast. but I feel that this won't happen. My time haven't been well organised and it's wasting away. I need to rethink my life and make it a healthy lifestyle. Time is running out.

People are working towards SYF while I'm working towards exam. As I read Shujuan's blog, I realised that I haven't been acknowledging the fact that ACJC band has helped me a lot in my life. Sometimes I question myself whether I'm a really weird guy in ACJC. I do admit that I behave crazily at times.

On the church side, I feel that my ministry is not to win souls. Winning souls should be done on a daily basis and not during the special seasons. I feel that rather then pulling your friends to church, it's best to ask them to push you to church. I can't mixed with my cell group well because all of them are too committed to church. Everything must talk about God, everything is spiritual but nothing happens in the natural. I'm sent by God to complete works in the natural. My ministry is not in church, but it is in the field of the world.

And again, whatever in the church does not appeals to me. People in the church likes pop music, likes pop dances, everything must be modernise. I'm not saying these things are bad, I'm just saying that I'm different. I'm different from the people of the church. I can't sing, I can play the guitar, I can't understand the bible even though I read thru many many times(I'm not a literature person). The least they could do is to accept me as I try to be more like God and finding my talents which may not appeal to the society.

In order to change the world, we got to mix with people of the wrong side or the dark side. People who scold vulgarities aren't that bad, but they are just people who is trying to exaggerate the language. Although I do not profane, I do understand how people actually don't mean what they say. Unlike city harvest, they stay away from people who speak indecent language and try to say "relax lah, don't scold so much vulgarities." The fact is that they know it's wrong, but we shouldn't force them to stop as it is a habit. We should let them go for a discipleship session and advice them.

One more thing, being a cell leader and going to bible school is not my forte. I do not want to become a cell leader because I do not want to commit myself so much time to church. I want to commit myself more to the outside world and help them. For not going bible school, it's because studying literature stuffs is not my forte. I'll fail if I get there and it'll be a laughing stock to the people. I do have different thinking from the city harvest members so I'll give different reasoning from the pastors and in the end, FAIL will come out of my result shit.

Portsmouth 2-1 Manchester United

A sad lost for Manchester United. Once again it dampens my mood for exam. Man U, buck up and win against AS Roma. We must pull ourselves together, for country, for club, for exam.

Please do not force me to buy the Embrace Album

To all my church pastors, leaders, seniors and friends out there, if you want to get a CD, just get it for yourself. DO NOT FORCE ME TO BUY THE CD!!!!! I'm not a pop fan artist anymore. It's not like she'll support me for my Japan trip if I buy her CD. Anyway, I've stopped listening to the album long ago and I find that pop music is not my type of music. This is just personal preference, not because I don't like He Yao Sun. I like her as a church member, but not to the extend that I like her as a pop artist. Even if you give me the CD, I'll accept it and throw it somewhere. I'll not listen to it. To make it worth, I'll even sell the CD to someone else or just give it away.

Despite Rooney's equaliser, Manchester United couldn't overcome the powerful Roma team in the last match. Paul scholes went for an early bath leaving his teammates behind. Come on Man U, let's show Roma who will go into the next round of the Champion's League.

The match really demoralise me. I need some good results from Man U to cheer me up.

Swing girls

I didn't know Ueno Juri really plays the saxophone. She is super talented. She can play the piano, play the saxophone and act. I hope I can meet her in Japan. Haha... I was watching their concert yesterday on DVD and realised that all the members are the same as the cast. Except that one trombonist nerd is missing. I noticed that because the nerd is very chio. Lol. Her name is Motokariya Yuika. I wonder what happened. Anyway half of the DVD I don't understand what ie means as it is in Japanese. I hope to bring this to Japan and hopefully find someone to translate for me.

Response to Shujuan's IQ question.

"its like super difficult to come up with a good question!! anyway this was the question i came up with..choose the correct answer to complete the sequence in the grid.

A) 4 B) 8 C) 2 D) 12

cheem right?"
With thanks to shujuan for providing the question.
here's the analysis.
I first look that the 1st 2 rows. 1st row got a number 7 in every box. Second row got a number 5 in every box. My first instinct is to choose D or C. However if C or D is the answer, then the 1st row should have a 70. I put the options aside and look into other possibilities.
Then I look at the second row, Hmm... square numbers, so I'm thinking of A, However, if it is square number then the 1st row should be 7, 49, XX. Hence I put that aside too. However as I look carefully, and try to fit 8 into the question mark, it works.
1st row. 7, 7^1, (7^1)*1
2nd row. 5, 5^2, (5^2)*2
3rd row. 2, 2^3, (2^3)*3
haha.... This feel like a morale booster after the very bad maths quiz. I just don't have the speed to do maths. Nice question.

Maths quiz.

I just can't remember the integral equation. Why must we memorise? Why why why? I just can't memorise for heaven's sake. I'm a maths solver not a maths memoriser. Now beware of thursday quiz where there are many equations and definition to memorise. My brain cells are burnt out.
